‘Gluten-free’ used to be a guidance phrase for those diagnosed with coeliac disease. Nowadays, it is becoming an increasingly popular term adopted by food companies, cafes and restaurants alike, and you may have already been tempted into buying these products yourself because they appear to be the ‘healthier’ option. But aside from people that have coeliac or allergies, is the gluten free option actually a healthy choice for everyone?
Carolyn Arthur is another member of the advisory board here at Holistic performance nutrition. We are lucky enough to have her as the Anatomy and Physiology guru with a vast amount of experience. She has a Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science (Massey University Scholar), a grad Cert in teaching (Secondary), a certificate in personal training from NZIS and a certificate in business. She is currently teaching Anatomy and Physiology at AUT University. If you didn't think all of that was enough she is also a NZ age-group Triathlete!

Anyone who suffers from eczema will know all too well the unbearable discomfort that it brings. Eczema, a rather broad term, is used to describe a variety of skin conditions that result in red, itchy skin. It can vary in severity, from slightly red and inflamed to full on weeping blisters.
Laura is the latest member we are lucky enough to have on the HPN advisory board. She has a Degree in Medical Laboratory Science, with a Masters in Haematology and is currently the applications specialist in haematology, Coagulation, urinalysis and Data management for Beckman Coulter.
